The summer of 1966, I was living with my husband, Jerry Buckingham, in Long Beach CA.  I drove up to my apartment one day and two cars were blocking my driveway.  Two people were standing on my lawn, talking.  Those two people were Bryce Cool and Judy Bussey Atnip.  The two of them had spotted each other driving down the street and just pulled over to talk.  They had no idea before that they both lived in Long Beach.  When I showed up the story got even wilder because none of us knew we were all living in the same place.  I didn't see Bryce again after that afternoon but I shared many afternoons after that with Judy and her husband, drinking wine and playing Jacks!  Judy and I had competed in Jacks many years at Pineview School's yearly Jacks tournament.  It was much more fun with wine.  Maybe Judy can add more about Bryce after that day.  As with everyone, he will be missed.

I remember riding around with Bryce in his 49 Merc with Ozzie Smith & myself. Just crusing 'CY' & the Rootbeer stand. I know Bryce taught in Midwest, Wyo. in the 90's. I stopped bye to see him on one of my motorcycle trips. unfortunately we missed making the connection. I don't know how you left us buddy, but we will take another cruse...just don't know where we'll end up. RIP
