Comments:

It is nice to be back in the Casper area and to be able to interact with the family. I have been back for about three years since I retired and I don't like the big city life that I had.

I went immediately into the Army after graduation. I had basic and schooling in Missouri then a tour of Korea(63-64), Fort Carson(65-66) and Vietnam(66-67).

I was injured in a traffic accident in the fall of 1968 and hospitalized in the Denver VA hospital. I ended up working in the Denver area until I retired. I also got a college degree while in Denver. I ended up working for Amoco Production until 1986. In 1988 I was hired by the U. S. Geological Survey as a cartographer. We went from making paper maps to computer generated maps.

Since retiring I married my high school sweetheart. We have toured on one of my motorcycles, taken a ocean cruise, been to Alaska, ridden in the Pony Express re-ride, attended car shows and we are both enjoying being retired.

I have managed to be diagnosed with Cancer but after radiation I have made almost a full recovery. This last year, 1015, I had a left shoulder replaced and that recovery is going well.

School Story:

I was in the High School Band and I also was a member of the Casper Troopers. At times it was difficult performing in both places the few times that they both were scheduled to perform.

What did you think you wanted to do when you were out of NCHS?

I wanted to go in to the military so that I would have the money to go to college. I was hoping to be a scientist. Even with the poor grades that I got in High School. In a way I got what I wanted as I ended up being a GIS specialist at the end of my working career.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I have been very lucky and have traveled a lot of the world but I haven't been able to take an African Safari or go to the Antarctic. At this point in my life, with the physical problems I have I don't think those are in the cards. But who knows, things may change.

What's the biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at NCHS?

I would have tried to get better grades. Luckily I have been able to keep learning but the background I could have had would have made things a lot easier.

My left leg gave out on me at the 55th Class reunion. Severe infection, but with a new brace on that leg I am learning to walk again, some what, and I can still ride my trike and work on my classic cars.
